About Amy G. Bayley, CPA, PLLC

I’m a Wilmington, North Carolina native and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. My accounting career began in 2000 at a small CPA firm in Wilmington while I was putting myself through college as a non-traditional student.

Over the next two decades, I built my career in corporate accounting and finance, working with growing and complex businesses and gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting, operations, tax, acquisitions, and business decision-making. That experience taught me the importance of efficiency, economies of scale, and, most importantly, knowing which numbers actually matter when you’re running a business.

In October 2024, I decided it was time to take a chance on myself. I wanted more autonomy, the opportunity to build something of my own, and the ability to work directly with business owners and individuals. So I left corporate accounting and started Amy Bayley CPA from the ground up.

Since then, we’ve served more than 125 clients—and we’re still growing. I’ve also welcomed Arthur Valenzuela, a recent Accounting and Finance graduate, to the firm as we expand our capacity and continue building for the future.

I’ve found my place in this work. I get tremendous satisfaction from helping people while doing something I genuinely enjoy. My goal is to bring the experience and discipline of corporate accounting to small and growing businesses—bridging the gap between accounting for compliance and accounting for decision-making.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband and two boys, reading, gardening, or heading to the beach whenever I get the chance.
